It was clear when the Executor-class was far superior to the Arbiter-class in nearly every way. This forced the massive ships power cores to overload, causing it to fall into a gas giant and destroyed with all hands. The engines were extremely vulnerable to starfighter attack and bombardment. However, it was quickly discovered that on the Accusers maiden voyage in BBY 1 that it had a huge design flaw when it encountered a rebel cell. Even a second ship of the class, the Accuser, was being built when the Arbiter went into service.
A gigantic warship that the Imperial engineers hoped would prove to be the default of all future super star destroyers. At less a year before the Executor-class. But the Arbiter-class would be the first to be built roughly in BBY 3. The infamous Executor-class Star Dreadnought and the Arbiter-class Star Dreadnought. It was this time that at less two super star destroyer designs were given the green light. There were several designs and prototypes that were built. The idea of a gigantic warship with the power of an entire fleet of star destroyers captured the imaginations of the Imperials. But the idea of a 'super star destroyer' was highly popular. It was years before the Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts were built. Also I was inspired by the Battleship Bismarck and thought about making a Star Wars version. So we're back, redesigned and renamed and now for a backstory and detail. It was the first time I started making and posting Star Wars ships on DA. I went back to one of my older Star Wars pics and redesigned the old Regent-class Star Dreadnought I made a while back.
